Where does SportNgin stand on the work to fix the problem associated with file sizes for team logo images?  We need to use square for mobile app and rectangular for website but can not upload two images so the images look bad either online or on the mobile app.  I have inquired before and been told this is a know issue that is being addressed by SportNgin.  Hoping to learn this has been addressed and an update coming very soon.

Hey Sean,

Reach out to your account Rep. Brandon Holtz to talk about the new responsive themes. In addition to being fully mobile responsive and having a fresh design, they all have square team logos. I've attached a quick screen grab. You can see a thumbnail of the responsive themes here

Thank you for the reply.  To confirm, there are no solutions being worked by SportNgin for customers on V3 (or I presume earlier) formats?  It sounds like my premium custom built site may be difficult or pricey to convert to V4 making that option less likely.  I have been told for alost a year now that this known issue is being actively addressed by SportNgin and I hope a solution available to existing customers not on the new V4 platform.

Hi Sean,

Sorry for the slow reply. I have been on vacation for the last two weeks. Do you have a link to your site so I can take a quick peek at it? Regardless, there are some ways to minimize the differences with some design tricks. First, when you use a bitmap image, we always create the thumbnails from the center of the image. This way, if you keep your core logo content in the middle, you will see the details of that logo. Alternatively, if you use an SVG image, we never crop it and all of the image will appear regardless of the shape of the image. Just be aware if you use the full 3:1, when it is displayed in a square the content gets much smaller. My recommendation for this option is to builder your logo as a 2:1 format and save as an SVG and you should get a good looking image whether it is displayed at 1:1 or 3:1.

thanks,

-rob

Thank You for the reply.  This is disappointing to me as I have been asking SportNgin about this for more than a year and been given vague "yes, this is a known issue that we are working to address" types of responses.  The work-arounds you suggest are fine, but could have been provided to me a year ago if not other real solution was being developed.  I will hire a digital artist to make lemonade out of the lemons as the existing logos look very unprofessional given the size change issue.  Thanks for the tip on how to improve the situation.  Thanks, SEAN TeamworkSportsKC.com
