So not sure how I missed the release parade, but kudos to SE for getting these auto-reminders built and deployed. I run 3 sites and didn't realize they were a "thing" until I started getting them for my kids.

My question, though...

For most of my sites I try to use the scheduling import as much as possible. Therefore, I am not adding events one at a time and don't ever use the RSVP features within Team Manager.

I also read this on the KB:

"Regardless of whether you send RSVP invites or reminders, all invited players will receive an automatic reminder email 48 hours before the game or event and invited staff will receive an automatic reminder email that includes a player RSVP summary 24 hours before the game or event."

This is what I am getting now for my kids. While it's wonderful and I appreciate it and feel the implementation was good (especially that it's tied into the mobile app, and my ability to RSVP there too), I am curious about settings. I looked and really can't find any settings anywhere for this feature.

-Can you toggle these automatic reminders on and off per team?

-Can you change the settings to something other than 48 hours?

-Is it tied into the 'receive email' settings on any given account?

-Can I toggle individuals on a team from receiving (or not receiving) those notifications?

Thanks all!

As a coach and parent myself, these are great reminders no doubt. With that said, I've shared some feedback with the teams here to look at how we can put some more control through settings in how they are managed. I'm going to connect with the product team to chime in here.

Great, thanks Jim. I totally agree they're a great first step, and I actually don't have a lot of feedback on how I'd change them. They kinda nailed it. But I'm sure it won't be long before a coach or parent asks for me to tweak a setting. It'd be nice to have those available to us.

There used to be functionality to turn this feature off called Cancel Invite which was awesome because we have certain events where an RSVP is not applicable at all.  However, the dev team recently took that feature away.  [frown]

Apparently per help desk I am not the only organization that has complained about this.

I am curious Jim if you know what if anything the dev team is doing to give us back that functionality where we can have an event appear in the mobile app schedule without the RSVP attached to it.   It was such a great feature!

On a given team I could uninvite everyone or I could invite only some of the players (we have optional conditioning and I could invite only those players who decided to do it as an example)

Also a couple questions –

1)      If I do RSVP yes or no right away, will that turn off the auto RSVP email that goes out 48 hours before?

2)      If I turn off the event and game reminders through the mobile app does that turn off the auto email AND the push notification?  Or just the push notification?

Good Morning,

I'll never say never on anything.

We have made some foundational changes, and one of the effects was that a team is fully included on all events. Being unable to select (or unselect some) is not there anymore, at least for now. I'm told it was rarely used but for those who did, it was pretty valuable. (btw, count me and my hockey team in that boat). I'd expect it to come back at some point, just no idea when.

The RSVPs do not go out right away unless you want them to. When you create an event/game, there is a radio button/toggle asking if you want to "Notify Team Now". If you say yes, it goes.

If you are using the schedule upload, notifications are not sent out since that would send your phones on a notification overload session.

For your question #2, those are for push notifications only.

Just chiming in that I very much miss the ability to "Cancel Invite" and hope it comes back. Our preference was to "cancel invite" for daily practice events.

Our program does not want to collect RSVPs for daily practices (which are on the calendar), and the automatic event reminders for daily practices are annoying to our families. The automatic event reminder for our daily practices (which are frequently at different times & different gyms) are confusing when they are sent two days in advance. In other words, it's confusing to receive a reminder on Wednesday morning about Thursday's practice time/location, when your focus that day is on Wednesday's time/location.
