I logged in this morning to finish adding some events to the calendar and now NO events are showing on the calendar.  Is it broken?

First thing I would check is the tags. Sounds like the calendar doesn't have any events tagged. See this article (6a). That's usually what happens.

thanks,

That was sort of it.  Everything is tagged.  For some reason the calendar no longer had tags selected withing the Tag Menu.  I could not find a way to set what the default tags were for the calendar (even for visitors).  How do I set the default view for everyone (they can turn them on/off)?

You can set the default tags by following this article on the help center--feel free to do full text searches there--it does a pretty good job of returning the correct results.

One caveat on the default tags. Once a user changes them, they are cached by their browser for that user going forward.

Thanks, understood.

This is not intuitive.  You should be able to set these on the calendar page itself.

You can, as a user, set them on the page. Just by selecting a set of tags, those are the ones that you will be shown going forward.

However, if a person has never been to the site before, an admin can set defaults for first time visitors. That is what the 'Set default tags' menu is for. This way, a person doesn't get a blank screen which is what you are seeing. Set the defaults that you want first time visitors to see and then the selections on the page are for them to override going forward.

thanks,

-rob
