On the football site I manage, we have a nice For Parents page that gives them links to support articles and the mobile app. When I go into edit mode, it tells me this is a template owned by SportsEngine and cannot be edited. I don't see it in my Templates page in the admin panel.

I'd like to get this page onto my Lacrosse site as well. Any idea how to do that?

Hey Joe,

Those pages are automatically provisioned on new sites at launch. However, your account manager can help you get it added to your site. Just shoot a message to them and they'll hook you up.

thanks,

Thanks Rob - is there a way on the site to see who my rep is? I feel like they change often, and I have multiple sites I manage. Just want to hit the right person.

I asked support recently for the "For Coaches" one to be restored and they basically have said its not possible, so I would like to know if you have any level of success with this

I used the chat feature on the SE Support site just now, and Reid was able to add the Parent Portal template to a specific page on my lax site within about 10 minutes.

I already had the page created, I just needed them to add that template container.

Okay, there was a page for coaches on my site that had an SE controlled footer that was the same thing but for coaches.  I was otherwise editing the page and I changed the Footer from "None" to my standard footer and the SE content disappeared.  I asked for it back and was told it wasn't possible.  I will try again

is it still SE controlled?  Or did they just copy the content to a local template?

I have the content copied, but I wanted it to continue to be SE controlled

Hmm. Good point. Looks like it's now a local template. It's a step in the right direction for now (I just wanted a page to send parents to get the link for the mobile app), but this page will be outdated soon, I imagine, once these help articles change.

Right, they will get outdated... which is why I really wanted it to be restored to SE controlled, found that to be a nice feature.

Hey Chris,
I took a quick look at your set up and they are still linked back to our core templates so they should update automatically if any changes are made.

thanks,

-rob

The parent one is... the coach one is a local template right now?  Right?

Scroll to the bottom--the bottom half is the template, the top is starter content for you to edit as you choose.

thanks!

I think you must be looking at an old/backup version of my site or something?  Or mistaking me for someone else?

What you speak of is how it started.  But I have since turned the page into the "Coaches Corner", made it private to my coaches group and given editing control to the VP of Player and Coach Development.  And him and I have edited the content since.  While in the process of editing the content I changed the template from "None" to my general page template and the SE provided content disappeared.  I contacted support to get the SE provided content back when I realized what had happened.  He gave me the content back in a local template, but as far as I can tell that is all it is, local.  He explained restoring it to SE controlled content would require me to start the entire site over again... which I obviously was not going to do.

SE should consider making these items accessible/retrievable.  They are a positive feature if they are actually going to maintain them.  I noticed they were a bit out of date for a while, but they seem to be up to date now.
