I am trying set up a new season for my team but when I go to add my players from last season they aren't in our database. The only one their is my daughter, but it is only her name. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Are you attempting to roster from a recent registration?  Are you a web admin or just have rights to your team page?  Do you have a screen shot of what you are trying to accomplish?

My first thought is that you created your players manually by adding them to the teams last year by using the Add Player button, and used either the Create New Player  or Import Players from Exceloption.

If so - players are added to the roster but not claimed and therefore do not exist as members of your site. If that is the case the players will not "exist in the database".

I believe the other two rostering options (Add Player from Network Member Directory and Import Players from Registration) will only find players who are members (claimed through registration).

Those circumstances (not using members or registration for adding players) would create the situation you have now.

I did add them from add a player but all their parents and emails i assigned are members. I will have to get my parents to add their child so I dont have to add them every year.

Unfortunately, unless the parents have been invited to claim the player record and in fact do respond to the claim request. The player member record is never created.

There are a few ways to make this happen:

- Use a spread sheet and have SE support create a no-cost registration which will be loaded with the spread sheet information and will send out a claiming request. Parents simply have to click on the link and accept the invitation, and the player records are created in SE. (this is my personal preference)

- Create a no-cost registration and ask your parents to register their players - this will put them in a registration from which you may roster the players.

- Temporarily change your active season to the prior season and touch each player to send a claiming request out to the parents. Once they have completed the request - players are in SE and you can change the active season to the new one.

- Create new teams, add players, and send claiming requests. This will ensure you have players next year, but won't solve your problem for this year.

My preference is the first one because you can use the registration reporting tools to track claimed and un-claimed players. Then send reminder emails out to the unclaimed players until they are all claimed.
